The 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SE was a part of the W111 series, produced between 1965 and 1967. The 250 SE Coupé and Cabriolet featured a sleek, elegant design by Paul Bracq, characterized by its clean lines and understated luxury.  First shown at Frankfurt in 1965, the new S-Class Mercedes-Benz range featured similar all-independent suspension, as well as four-wheel disc brakes and power-assisted steering. The 250 SE was powered by a fuel-injected version of Mercedes-Benz’s new, overhead-camshaft, seven-bearing inline-six displacing 2,496 cc and developing 150 bhp at 5,600 rpm. There was a choice of a standard four-speed manual gearbox — though most bound for the States were equipped with Mercedes’ four-speed automatic — while the rear suspension featured their hydro-pneumatic load-leveling spring.  

While the Sedan used the “New Generation” bodyshell, the Coupé and Cabriolet kept the timelessly elegant coachwork that was introduced back in 1960 on the 220 SEb. The luxurious 250 SE model was the last of the hand-built Mercedes; only 13 cars per week rolled off the production line. As top-of-the-range luxury models, the duo came equipped with a very high specification for the time, and approximately 5,260 examples were produced between 1965 and 1967.

Ownership History 

This 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SE Coupé was added to The SugarCreek Collection in 2009 with the restoration complete prior to acquiring the car. SugarCreek has performed maintenance on the car between 2024-2025.
