Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Hagerty Marketplace is honored to offer another selection of vehicles from The SugarCreek Collection. This private collection in southwestern Ohio is supported by its own in-house restoration and maintenance shop, with a full-time staff of craftsmen. The garage is a true spectrum of car enthusiast dreams, ranging from unfinished restorations to the most recent sale of the SEMA-exhibited 1,000 HP 1962 Dodge Power Wagon, supporting the Mike Rowe WORKS Foundation. Thirty select cars from the collection are being offered just in time for spring. Whether awaiting restoration, preserved showroom stock, restored to like-new, or tastefully modified, these cars and trucks are truly SugarCreek quality.

“Rightly so, the craft of coachbuilding has acquired something of the status of a black art,” said Rolls-Royce. “But they are still to be found at Mulliner Park Ward, plying their various trades on behalf of those discerning people who look only for the best.”

And the best at Rolls-Royce was the Corniche, first introduced in 1971. The Mulliner Park Ward design was “shaped by hand,” as each Corniche is said to have taken five months to create, with two weeks alone spent building and fitting the convertible’s top. Naturally, Rolls-Royce did not forget to include traditional luxuries such as the finest English Connolly leather, matching Lombardy cross-banded veneers, and Wilton lambswool carpeting. Power came from its famed 6.75-liter V8 engine and special Hydra-Matic automatic gearbox. All of this did not come without substantial cost, and just 2,017 Corniche convertibles were produced from 1977–1987.

Rolls-Royce said of the Corniche’s name, “Between Monte Carlo and Nice there are three Corniche roads. Our Corniche would be at home on any of them, from the Bas Corniche with its yachts and exclusive hotels, to the Grande Corniche rich in breathtaking views, notorious for the sheer drops and the dozens of hairpin corners.”
