“Forefront of fashion — Thrill of the year.” The 1955 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Model 76C is a classic symbol of American automotive design and luxury. Available in three different body styles of which Buick boasted, “In the new sports-car lines of the Sedan, the roomier Riviera and Convertible, you see lower profiles, and distinctive new front-to-near styling”

The 1955 Roadmaster Convertible featured a distinctive design with broad lower rear fender bands, a gold-accented grille, and a hood ornament that set it apart from other models. It was powered by a 322 cubic-inch V8 engine rated at 236 horsepower. This engine was paired with a “Variable Pitch” DynaFlow automatic transmission, with 20 propeller-like blades in the torque convertor — “one pitch is for swift take-off, the other for economical cruising” — providing a smooth and powerful driving experience.

Inside, the Roadmaster Convertible provided a luxurious interior with leather seats and Cordaveen door panels, available in a variety of colors. The 1955 model year was significant for Buick, as it marked a period of great innovation and success, and the Roadmaster Convertible was the company’s ultimate symbol of fashionable prestige and thrilling performance.
