Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

After eighteen years and more than 15,000,000 units of their iconic Model T, Ford would unveil the new Model A in 1927. The Model A was offered with a selection of body styles that would suit almost every taste and purpose from a full-size Fordor Sedan or a sleek two-door Coupe, Ford’s Model A offerings even included a taxicab, truck, and vehicles for commercial use. Power came from an “L-head” inline four-cylinder engine producing around 40 horsepower which was not only incredibly robust, but it was also the first Ford offered with a standard set of driver controls. This meant the Model A is configured with a now conventional clutch, brake, throttle, and gearshift which provides enthusiasts with an incredibly enjoyable and relatable driving experience. With easy-to-operate controls shared with modern automobiles, many enthusiasts have opted to upgrade the original 40 horsepower with more modern powertrains that allow the Model A to be enjoyed with greater ease alongside modern traffic.

This lot is offered Without Reserve from The Roger Boman Collection, which comprises 27 vehicles ranging from European to American classics. Many examples within the collection feature Mr. Boman’s standard modification “formula,” including but not limited to the addition of disc brakes, air conditioning, modern fuel injection, and many other custom touches seen by countless enthusiasts around the Fresno, California area who shared the late owner’s passion for this unique assortment of automobiles.
