The 2019 revival honors both Shelby’s performance heritage and Hertz’s long-running role in offering specialty vehicles.

Power comes from Ford’s Gen 3 5.0‑liter Coyote V8, an advanced unit featuring a 12.0:1 compression ratio, and twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti‑VCT). Shelby American enhanced the engine with a calibrated performance package, increasing output to around 480 horsepower when new, aided primarily by a freer‑flowing cat‑back exhaust system and improved breathing efficiency.
