The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible represents the pinnacle of front-engine American performance engineering in an open-top format. Introduced as part of the C7 generation, the Z06 Convertible combined supercar-level performance with everyday usability. It was powered by a supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 V8 engine producing 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful Corvettes ever built. 

Buyers could choose between a seven-speed manual transmission with active rev matching or an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The Z06 Convertible featured a lightweight aluminum frame and carbon-fiber body panels, allowing it to achieve 0–60 mph in just 3.2 seconds. Despite its performance focus, it retained luxury features like ventilated leather seats, a premium Bose audio system, and advanced infotainment. The convertible top was fully electronic and could be operated at speeds up to 30 mph.

Built in Bowling Green, Kentucky, the Z06 Convertible was a limited-production model, with only 2,732 units produced in 2016. MotorTrend commented that year, “The C7 Z06 took off where the C6 ZR1 left off, with 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. Everything related to ‘performance’ has been seriously upgraded: suspension, drivetrain, brakes, wheels, tires and aerodynamics with an emphasis on downforce.”
