Fabulous at fifty! After an incredible fifty years of production, Ford would celebrate the Mustang’s Golden Anniversary in style by releasing a completely new model. Internally dubbed the “S550” this sixth-generation Mustang featured a lower and wider body to improve its handling capabilities. Most notably, this was the first Mustang to utilize independent rear suspension across the entire model range, and the uprated handling is matched to the 5.0-liter Coyote V8 rated at over 400 horsepower.

Based on the Mustang GT fastback with performance pack, “the 50 Year Limited Edition adds details that set it apart from other Mustangs, while hearkening back to the 1965 original,” said Moray Callum, Ford vice president of design. It was the only 2015 Mustang with a cashmere-stitched, leather-wrapped steering wheel. The stitching is also used on the instrument panel, shifter boot, center armrest, door inserts and seats. The seats feature exclusive two-tone cashmere and black leather upholstery, and the Mustang 50 Year logo on the seat backs. Truly exclusive, Ford built only 1,964 units in honor of the year the pony car debuted, April 17, 1964, in either Wimbledon White or Kona Blue. Now the celebration continues with this fabulous low-mile 50 Years Limited Edition Mustang.

Ownership History

This Mustang, number 1,491 of 1,964, was first delivered to Desoto Auto Mall in Arcadia, Florida. The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report for this 2015 Ford Mustang GT 50 Years Limited Edition shows titles in Florida and Montana before returning to Florida in 2021. It recently was upgraded with a Roush Stage 2 supercharger and mildly lowered suspension.
