Description
The recipe for the world-beating 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S started baking in 1987, when all-wheel drive and twin turbos debuted on that year’s groundbreaking 959. The 1998 996 received water cooling, and the 2005 997 911 Turbo debuted the PDK dual-clutch transmission.
So by 2011, the 997.2-generation Porsche 911 Turbo S was a refined, brutally fast machine. Its 3.8-liter, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine made 530 horsepower — which the Sport Chrono package optimized with suspension and transmission enhancements, including launch control. As equipped with a dual-clutch PDK transmission and all-wheel drive, the Turbo S rocketed from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds. And helping to control that prodigious power were standard carbon-ceramic brakes and a torque-vectoring system.
Visually, the classic 911 silhouette was subtly enhanced with scalloped air intakes and fascias, center-lock wheels, and a unique leather interior. But Car and Driver was obsessed with its power. “The Turbo S is a masterclass in controlled aggression—blisteringly fast yet composed.”
And this black-on-black example — one of only around 1,200 coupes built in 2011 — also wears high-end modifications including body enhancements, aftermarket intake and exhaust systems, and 19-inch HRE wheels.
