As part of the eighth generation of the Jaguar XJ series, known as the XJ351, the 2011 Jaguar XJL four-door luxury sedan introduced a dramatic redesign that departed from the traditional styling of its predecessors, aimed to attract a younger demographic while maintaining the classic appeal of the Jaguar brand. The exterior featured a sleek, modern design with a distinctive front grille, elongated headlights, and a coupe-like roofline that gave it a sporty yet elegant appearance. The rear of the car was notable for its unique taillight design and sculpted trunk lid. 

Under the hood, the 2011 XJL offered a range of powerful engines, including a 5.0-liter V8 that produced 385 horsepower and a supercharged version that delivered an impressive 470 hp. These engines were paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, providing smooth and responsive performance. The XJL also featured advanced suspension tuning, which contributed to its exceptional ride quality and handling. 

Inside, the sedan offered a lavish interior with high-quality materials, including leather upholstery, wood veneers, and chrome accents, as well as a panoramic sunroof, heated and cooled seats, and a state-of-the-art infotainment system.

Ownership History 

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this 2011 Jaguar XJL in Illinois and South Carolina. It was imported from the U.K. through U.S. Customs in Baltimore on 18 December 2010 and purchased new from Norwood Land Rover Jaguar in Norwood, Massachusetts, on 15 June 2011. It remained with its Illinois owner for nine years before being sold in November 2020 to its current owner, who resides in Johns Island, South Carolina. The seller says, “The Jaguar was originally owned by my mother-in-law and driven sparingly.  We purchased the car from her in 2020 when it had 36,000 miles on it [and have added less than 20,000 miles since].  The car drives quietly and smoothly with ample power when needed. Interior is in excellent condition.”
