Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

After the 2002 Camaro’s curtain call and a brief hiatus, enthusiasts were thrilled when the fifth-generation Camaro concept broke cover in early 2006. Chevrolet read the tea leaves regarding public interest in retro styling, so the Camaro concept leaned into its past, and after an overwhelmingly positive public response, the Camaro was reborn.

The 2010 Camaro’s muscular sheetmetal was both a throwback to 1960s models, and a futuristic look forward. The body boasted a V-shaped nose, sweeping roofline, bulging fenders, and a prominent rear end with squared-off taillights. And under that sleek body lay cutting-edge components: the foundation was GM’s advanced Zeta platform, which boasted a fully independent rear suspension and calibrated shocks for a smooth yet sporty ride. However, new Camaros are best known for their high-powered LS engines: enthusiasts who row their own gears got the legendary LS3, which put down a whopping 426 horses and 420 lb-ft of torque — and ran quarter miles in 13 seconds flat.

And this modified 2011 Camaro SS runs a lot quicker than that. Its LS3 engine has been fully rebuilt with a stage three cam and modified heads, and it is backed by a new twin-disc clutch. Those parts are said to get this Camaro down the quarter mile in the mid 11-second range.
