The 2009 version didn’t look much different from prior models, but the 997.2-generation 911 really was very new underneath.

The Carrera 4S recipe remained the same with its body from the Turbo version with its 44mm wider hips over the rear axle, now packed with an all-new 3.8-liter engine in the 4S. Porsche’s famed PDK dual-clutch transmission debuted in the Carrera 4 in 2009, as did the revised all-wheel drive system from the Turbo and updated suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). To celebrate this major update, Porsche released the “Launch Edition” with Meteor Grey Metallic paint, black leather interior, and so much more.

Known Imperfections

• The front bumper has a barely perceptible impression of two small lines just to the right of center, which can only be seen in specific light angles, as pictured in the accompanying photo gallery

• Typical scuffs on lower rocker panels and underside of a 14,000-mile vehicle

• Light aluminum paint spot chipped in two areas on the left side front air intake as indicated in photo gallery

• Tires are date-coded from 2014 and 2015

• Small one-inch scuff in the rear quarter panel by the top edge of the taillamp

• PPF has minor areas of edge wear or bubbling

• Rear bumper cap has two one-inch line scratches

• Two minor dime-sized, or less, impressions on the passenger side seat plastic cover

• Side seat bolsters and lower cushions show typical wear of a 15-year-old vehicle with 14,000 miles

• Center console shows a couple of minor scuffs from seat belt application
