As an enthusiast himself, he brought a love for the Corvette to his 15 years as Bowling Green Plant Manager, leaving a lasting impression. 

In honor of his retirement in 2006, Chevrolet offered the 2008 Wil Cooksey 427 Limited Edition Z06 Corvettes, RPO Z44. It is the only 2008 Z06 available in Crystal Red Tintcoat, the color chosen by Cooksey. Powered by the 7.0-liter (427 cu-in) LS7 V8 engine rated at 505 hp and backed by a six-speed manual transmission, it also features spider-design chrome Z06 wheels, Z06 sill plates, a 1960s-like Stinger-style stripe on the hood with 427 emblems, and a painted Z06. Inside is a Dark Titanium leather interior unique to this model with 427 seat and floor mat embroidery, and a special Crystal Red center trim plate. 

The 505 Wil Cooksey 427 Limited Edition Z06 models produced were signed and numbered in the center console area by the man himself, and this one, number 161, has traveled just 25,684 miles.
