The 2006 Pontiac GTO marked the final — and most powerful — chapter of Pontiac’s modern muscle‑car revival. Rooted in Australia’s Holden Monaro, the reborn GTO returned to the U.S. in 2004 as a refined, rear‑wheel‑drive coupe rather than a retro throwback. By 2006, Pontiac had fully dialed in the formula.
The heart of the GTO was a 6.0-liter LS2 V8 producing 400 horsepower, the same engine found in the Corvette. It could hit 60 mph in under five seconds and run the quarter mile in the low 13s. While many enthusiasts expected a flashier nod to the 1960s original, the GTO’s subdued styling gave it sleeper appeal — all that Corvette power wrapped in an unassuming package. Production ended after three model years with roughly 40,000 cars built.
This ’06 GTO is finished in Phantom Black Metallic paint over black interior with red leather upholstery and door trim. Its LS2 V8 engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. Additional features include a rear spoiler, dual exhaust, sport-tuned suspension, rear seat with pass‑through trunk opening, Blaupunkt AM/FM/CD stereo, and power steering, disc brakes, windows, locks, mirrors, and power/heated seats.
This 2006 Pontiac GTO is now offered on consignment by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX and a clean Pennsylvania title.
