The Honda Reflex, also known as the NSS250, is a maxi-scooter that was produced by Honda from 2001 to 2008. The Reflex was designed to replace the Honda Helix, a beloved model among scooter enthusiasts. However, due to the Helix's popularity, Honda decided to sell both models concurrently.
The Reflex was notable for being the first scooter in North America to offer ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), which was a significant advancement in scooter safety. Initially, it came in two versions: the standard NSS250 and the ABS-equipped NSS250A. In 2004, Honda introduced a “Sport” variant, the NSS250S, which featured a shorter windscreen, black powder-coated wheels, a passenger backrest, and chrome trimmings.
Powered by a 249cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine, the Reflex could reach speeds of up to 82 mph, making it suitable for highway travel. Despite its relatively low power output of 19 horsepower, the Reflex was praised for its reliability and fuel efficiency, often achieving around 65 miles per gallon.
The 2006 NSS250S Sport continued to embody these characteristics, maintaining the same design and performance features that made the Reflex a popular choice among scooter riders with its combination of safety, reliability, and efficiency.
