Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 2004 Ferrari 360 Spider F1 was the open-top evolution of Ferrari’s groundbreaking 360 Modena, blending cutting-edge technology with timeless Italian design. Introduced in 2001, the Spider featured a fully automatic power soft-top that folded beneath a sleek tonneau cover, preserving the car’s flowing Pininfarina lines. By 2004, the model was offered with Ferrari’s advanced F1 electro-hydraulic transmission, inspired by Formula 1 racing. This system allowed drivers to shift gears via steering-wheel-mounted paddles in milliseconds, delivering a race-bred experience without a traditional clutch pedal.
At its heart was a 3.6-liter, 40-valve V8 producing 400 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, paired with a lightweight aluminum space-frame chassis that improved rigidity and reduced weight. Performance was exhilarating: 0–60 mph in about 4.5 seconds and a top speed near 180 mph. The Spider’s engineering ensured that removing the roof did not compromise handling, thanks to reinforced structural components and advanced aerodynamics.
As Motor Trend (Oct 2000) exclaimed, “Driving Ferrari's new 180‑mph hair dryer will overload the first four senses.” 2004 would be the last year of 360 Spider production, and this Ferrari in classic Rosso Corsa over Beige leather shows just 4,697 miles from showroom — a rare opportunity to experience a nearly-new and carefully preserved example of Ferrari’s “180‑mph hair dryer.”
