Description

Introduced in October 2000 at the Geneva Motor Show, the new E46 M3 was uncovered with clean proportions that many enthusiasts and automotive press regarded as one of the best-looking cars of the decade. These excellent looks were paired with a nimble chassis delivered by BMW's legendary M Performance division who offered both a Coupe and Convertible variant of this ‘Ultimate Driving Machine’. Easily distinguishable from your typical daily driver, the M3 sit’s wider and lower than the normal 3-series along with a more aggressive front bumper and polished quad-exhaust pipes. Unlike the previous E36 M3 which received a lesser power plant for the North American market, the E46 would receive a world-market S54 inline-six engine. This twin-cam engine features six individual throttle bodies, drive-by-wire, and BMW’s VANOS variable valve timing system which proved to be yet another excellent six-cylinder powerplant developed by the brilliant minds of M Performance. Still a highly impressive performance car, the E46 M3 has risen to legend status among many enthusiasts in recent years due to the perfect blend of modern technology which still delivers the analog feedback loved by enthusiasts.

Ownership History

This vehicle was delivered new to Crevier BMW in Santa Ana, California and then remained with owners in Southern California until 2020 when it was sold to the next caretaker in Georgia. It is reported that the vehicle has completed the engine bearing recall and VANOS service with a Carfax report on file indicating periodic servicing conducted at BMW Palm Springs for nearly a decade.
