The 2001 LS430 was named for its larger, 4.3-liter V8 engine, which made the same 290 horses but an additional 20 pound-feet of torque for quicker acceleration. The LS430 debuted evolutionary styling, with a profile that was both round and boxy, flowing, aerodynamic lines, a prominent semi-rectangular grille, flush angular headlights, and a square rear end.
