Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The third-generation Fox Body Mustang had brought a legitimate performance image back to Ford’s pony car during the 1980s, but by the early 1990s the design was a bit long in the tooth, and something fresh was needed. While based on an updated version of the Fox platform, the new fourth-generation Fox-4 Mustang that started rolling out of Dearborn in 1993 was nevertheless a thoroughly new car and the first major update for the Mustang in 15 years.

The Mustang received a facelift in 1999 that was so significant that it might be easy to mistake it for an all-new design, but under this sharper, more athletic bodywork, the “New Edge” Mustang was largely the same. This body style lasted until the fourth generation was replaced after 2004.

The 2001 models could be had with a variety of engines, but the most common version was the 3.8-liter EFI V6 offering surprising performance. Fourth-generation Mustangs are plentiful, but this four-owner 2001 Convertible with Premium Equipment Group has been preserved with low miles and is one of just 60 finished in this Electric Green and Parchment color scheme with California emissions that year.

 Ownership History

Built on 30 April 2001 on the Dearborn, Michigan, assembly line, the accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report places this four owner 2001 Ford Mustang in California, New York, Louisiana, and since 2017, Texas. The consignor reports, “All systems have been gone through. It has new brakes and shocks/struts and a new AC compressor and dryer. All fluids have been changed, and it has been tuned up. Mechanically, I have had everything gone through and brought up to spec. It doesn't get driven much, but it has been completely maintained.”
