Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 2001 Corvette Z06 signaled the revival of Chevrolet’s legendary Z06 performance badge, a nameplate that had not appeared since the 1960s. Introduced as the top performance model within the C5 lineup, it was designed with track capability in mind and built solely on the Fixed Roof Coupe (FRC) platform — considered the most rigid and lightweight body style of the generation.
At its heart was the newly developed LS6 5.7‑liter V8, rated at 385 horsepower and offering a clear step up from the LS1 found in standard Corvettes. The Z06 also featured reduced weight, refined suspension components, and upgraded braking and tire setups.
While every 2001 Z06 rolled off the production line as a coupe, this particular example was converted into a convertible in June 2001 by Prefix Corporation of Rochester Hills, Michigan. The conversion involved removing the fixed roof, fitting a black soft top, adding exterior aerodynamic enhancements, and installing leather‑wrapped decorative roll hoops. Finished in black paint over black factory leather seats with red‑stitched Z06 logos, the car also has power steering, power brakes, power windows and locks, electrically adjustable mirrors and driver’s seat, and a Bose audio system.
This 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Convertible Conversion is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with a window sticker, owner’s manual, documentation from the convertible conversion, a clean CARFAX vehicle history report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.
