The 2000 Plymouth Prowler marked a significant moment in the final years of the Plymouth brand, showcasing Chrysler’s willingness to experiment with bold design and advanced manufacturing. First introduced in 1997, the Prowler was conceived at Chrysler’s Pacifica Design Center as a modern interpretation of a 1930s hot rod, complete with cycle fenders, an open front suspension, and a low-slung roadster profile. Its aluminum‑intensive construction — used for the frame, suspension, and many body panels — served as an engineering exercise to test lightweight materials for future Chrysler vehicles.

By 1999, the Prowler received a notable performance upgrade: a 253‑horsepower 3.5‑liter V6 paired with a rear‑mounted four‑speed AutoStick transaxle. The 2000 Prowler continued with limited, largely hand‑assembled production, offered in vibrant colors and emphasizing style over utility.

A total of 2,746 Plymouth Prowlers were built for the 2000 model year, including 572 in Prowler Yellow like this 51k mile example. This 2000 Prowler also has a custom black wrap added to the hood and trunk areas by a previous owner, similar to the rare Woodward Edition Prowlers (which were painted red and black). Recent additions include American Racing alloy wheels and a Pioneer stereo.
