The 2000 Land Rover Defender 110 Td5 County represents an important time in the evolution of Land Rover’s iconic off-road lineage. Built on the L316 platform, this model retained the rugged, utilitarian design that had defined the Defender since its Series predecessors, while introducing modern engineering refinements. Central to the 2000 Defender 110 was the Td5 engine—a 2.5-liter inline-five turbo diesel producing 122 horsepower. This engine featured electronic unit injection, improving fuel efficiency and emissions compared to earlier models.

The County trim added a touch of civility to the Defender’s otherwise spartan nature, offering upgraded interior materials, improved sound insulation, and more comfortable seating for five. With permanent four-wheel drive, a five-speed manual transmission, and coil-sprung solid axles front and rear, the Defender 110 Td5 County was equally at home on rough terrain or rural roads.

This right-hand drive Td5 County was restored and upgraded by a previous owner who worked in England for several years and when they returned to the States they brought this Defender along. Extensive repairs in England included a new galvanized bulkhead with five new galvanized frame doors, and the body frame rails and B- and C-pillars were replaced with new galvanized replacements. Inside, new Exmoor Trim upholstery, carpets, and OEM Land Rover mats were added, along with front seat heaters and a new Alcantara headliner with matching sun visors. Produced from 1998 to 2002, the Td5 County variant is admired for its blend of heritage, durability, mechanical simplicity — and on this one — luxury.
