The 1999 GMC Yukon SLT was a full-size SUV built on the GMT400 platform, sharing its architecture with the Chevrolet Tahoe. It was powered by a 5.7-liter V8 engine producing 255 hp, it featured an automatic transmission, and it offered seating for six, as well as 118 cubic feet of cargo room.

The Yukon’s body-on-frame construction and solid rear axle with leaf springs provided durability, off-road capability, and a towing capacity of up to 7,000 pounds. And features including dual front airbags and ABS made it a safe utility vehicle as well.

The SLT trim emphasized comfort and convenience, offering leather seating, premium audio, and power accessories. And because the 1999 model marked the final year before the Yukon transitioned to a new platform, it was the most highly refined version yet of GMC’s rugged yet upscale SUV.

• Carfax reports on 10 May 2012, “Mileage Inconsistency.” On 1 June 2011 a California inspection station recorded 189,497 miles, but a 10 May 2012 California inspection station recorded 163,554 miles  

• Carfax reports on 22 December 2021, “Mileage Inconsistency.” Oil Changers in Hayward, CA recorded 128,213 miles
