Description
The Defender has earned its place as one of the most iconic 4x4s ever built, equally at home on remote trails as it is turning heads around town. Mechanical, purposeful, and endlessly customizable, examples equipped with the 300Tdi diesel and a manual gearbox are especially favored for their simplicity, longevity, and global usability.
This right-hand-drive 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 is powered by a 300Tdi turbodiesel 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and an LT230 dual-range transfer case. Finished in Coniston Green over grey cloth and vinyl upholstery, this example was reportedly refurbished in England prior to importation into the United States and the seller’s acquisition in 2020.
The truck features LED exterior lighting, an upgraded rear bumper with hitch provision, Masai panoramic rear glass, and black Sawtooth alloy wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain tires. Inside, color-matched textured paint covers the floors, and the truck features replacement seat covers, an aftermarket steering wheel, and a short-throw shift kit with matching shift knob.
This 1997 Land Rover Defender 90 300Tdi is now offered with an owner’s manual, Haynes repair manuals, various spare parts, a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
From the seller: "I acquired this Defender in 2020 while stationed in southern England with the U.S. Navy. Shortly after, I received orders to Japan and brought the vehicle with me as my personally owned vehicle (POV). Due to Japan’s strict diesel registration requirements, the Defender remained in storage for approximately three years during that assignment. Following my return stateside, the vehicle was shipped from Japan to Virginia Beach, where it is now located."
