The Oldsmobile 98, or Ninety-Eight, was the full-size flagship model of Oldsmobile since its debut in 1940. The name referred to a Series 90 fitted with an eight-cylinder engine, would have to wait until after World War II to really begin its legacy. Ultimately, the Oldsmobile 98 would survive for 12 generations across six decades.

The twelfth and final generation coincided with its 50th anniversary in 1991, utilizing the General Motors C Platform with added length. By 1995, Oldsmobile had simplified its offering to just two levels of Regency Elite (Series I and Series II), both offered with a high level of standard equipment. Although the 98 got its name from its eight-cylinder engine in the 40s, these 90s evolution of the 98 featured a standard 3.8L V6 engine that was reengineered to improve performance and fuel efficiency.

This 35,489-mile example is the highest-trim Regency Elite Series II, featuring a power trunk and cornering headlights. The Series II also came standard with traction control, digital instrument cluster, auto dimming electrochromic mirror with compass, heated and auto dimming electrochromic exterior driver’s mirror and memory settings for the driver’s seat and outside mirrors.
