The fourth generation of the C/K model line, which had the plate number GMT400, was introduced in April of 1987 for the 1988 model year. This model remained in production for almost 14 years and underwent several minor revisions during its production period. In 1992, General Motors discontinued the R/V "Rounded Line" series after 18 years of production. Crew-cab pickups and full-size SUVs were shifted to the GMT400 model line. Offered as the entry-level Cheyenne, mid-level Scottsdale, and the premium Silverado, there was a trim level available to suit the needs of nearly every buyer. The Cheyenne was aimed at commercial use, while the Scottsdale and Silverado were geared for sales with an increased level of features and comfort. Today, these trucks are beloved for their classic styling and simplistic design while remaining capable performers.
