The MidStates Classic Cobra replica is a notable entry in the world of kit cars, offering enthusiasts a taste of the legendary Shelby Cobra. Originally produced by MidStates Classic Cars & Parts, Inc. of Freemont, Nebraska, the company gained recognition in the 1990s for its Cobra replicas built on a robust tube chassis with fiberglass bodywork.
These replicas often featured powerful Ford V8 engines that could be mated to various transmissions and differentials. In 1999, MidStates was acquired by Shell Valley Companies, Inc., a move that merged two respected names in the replica car industry.
This MidStates Classic Cobra replica was reportedly built in 1988 and refurbished in 1997. The roadster is finished in metallic green with white Le Mans stripes. Power is provided by a 460ci Ford V8 paired with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission, both of which have been modified. Each corner is equipped with coilover suspension and Baer disc brakes, and additional features include a polished roll hoop, side-exit exhaust pipes, black leather upholstery, and 17” R58 Cobra wheels.
