Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Ford called it, “Top-of-the-line in looks and comfort.” The Ford F-150 XLT Lariat has its roots in Ford's long-running F-Series, which debuted in 1948 as a rugged postwar work truck. By the late 1970s, Ford recognized a growing appetite for trucks that blended utility with comfort, leading to the introduction of the Lariat trim — named after the cowboy’s lasso — as a premium option emphasizing interior refinement and style.
The 1987 model year fell within the seventh generation of the F-Series (1980–1986 was the sixth, with the seventh running 1987–1991), marking a significant refresh. The 1987 F-150 XLT Lariat received a revised front fascia with aero-styled headlights, a cleaner grille, and a more modern dashboard interior. It was offered in Regular Cab, SuperCab, and Styleside configurations.
Under the hood, buyers could choose from a range of engines, including a 4.9L inline-six and 5.0L or 5.8L V8s, paired with either manual or automatic transmissions. The XLT Lariat distinguished itself with plush cloth or optional leather seating, woodgrain interior accents, and extra sound insulation; a well-rounded package that made the F-150 competitive against GM's C/K series at the time.
This red-and-white Ford F-150 is an XLT Lariat, which is powered by the 5.0L (302ci) V8 engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. It now shows just over 40,000 miles.
This 1987 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat is now offered by the selling dealer with a CARFAX Vehicle History Report and a clean Florida title.
