Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The 1985 Ford Mustang GT marked a pivotal year in the evolution of the third-generation “Fox Body” Mustang. Ford had been steadily refining the Mustang since the Fox platform's debut in 1979, and by 1985, the GT variant had become a true muscle car contender once again.

Under the hood, the 1985 GT featured a 5.0-liter High Output V8, producing 210 horsepower with a four-barrel carburetor — the last iteration before Ford transitioned to fuel injection in 1986. Paired with either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, the GT delivered strong acceleration, and a throaty exhaust note that enthusiasts loved. Stylistically, the 1985 GT received a more aggressive front fascia with integrated fog lights, a revised grille, and aerodynamic enhancements. The “GT” badging, unique alloy wheels, and optional two-tone paint schemes helped distinguish it from the base models. Inside, the car offered supportive sport seats, a driver-focused dash, and optional air conditioning and premium sound systems.

The 1985 Mustang GT is remembered as a high point in the Fox Body era — balancing raw V8 power with modern styling and setting the stage for the fuel-injected Mustangs that followed. It remains a favorite among collectors and performance enthusiasts today.
