1985 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz

Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Much like the rest of the American automakers, Cadillac downsized the Eldorado in the late 1970s in response to rising gas prices and shifting consumer preference towards fuel economy. In addition to a smaller and lighter package (more than 1,000 pounds lighter and 20 inches shorter), buyers received a smaller, less-powerful engine. The 1979 Eldorado was available only as a two-door coupe.
By the early 1980s, the Eldorado’s engine was given slightly more power, but the biggest change for the lineup was the return of a convertible in 1984 (Cadillac’s first since 1976). As for its Eldorado two-door coupe sibling, standard styling remained largely unchanged from 1984 to 1985, but the Biarritz option added plenty of accoutrements.
All Cadillac Eldorados of this generation had well-equipped interiors, with plush leather seats, climate control, and more. The long hood / short deck proportions are quite different from the more iconic Eldorados of the 1950s and ’60s, but the look has actually aged quite well. These luxury automobiles are beginning to see a level of interest they haven’t seen since they were new cars, perhaps finally realizing Cadillac’s marketing line: “Eldorado. The car that dreams are made of.”
