The Buick LeSabre was a cornerstone of American motoring luxury for nearly half a century, combining comfort, craftsmanship, and the smooth, quiet ride that defined Buick’s reputation. Introduced in 1959, the LeSabre evolved through multiple generations as Buick’s full-size offering, sharing GM’s B-body platform with the Oldsmobile Delta 88 and Chevrolet Caprice. By 1985, the LeSabre stood as the last of Buick’s classic, rear-wheel-drive sedans—retaining body-on-frame construction, a V8 powerplant, and Buick’s traditional all-coil suspension. The following year would see the model downsized and converted to front-wheel-drive, closing the chapter on Buick’s “land yacht” era.

To commemorate the end of this lineage, Buick offered the Collector’s Edition, designating all 1985 LeSabres with special badging and a commemorative owner’s package. This particular example goes one step further—it’s also the Limited trim, the top specification in the LeSabre lineup. The Limited trim brought upgraded interior materials, loose-pillow seating, woodgrain accents, and additional sound insulation, representing the pinnacle of Buick comfort and luxury for 1985.
