Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The C123‑series Mercedes‑Benz 300CD is one of the most distinctive members of the W123 family, blending the platform’s renowned durability with a sleek two‑door pillar-less coupe design. Produced in comparatively limited numbers, the 300CD has become especially sought after for its combination of the legendary OM617 diesel engine, classic proportions, and robust reliability.
This 1984 Mercedes‑Benz 300CD is finished in Lapis Blue Metallic (932U) over a Beige MB‑Tex interior. Sold new in California, it reportedly remained in Mission Viejo with its original owner before being acquired by the second owner in the Bay Area. The seller reportedly purchased the car in 2017 and later transported it to New York before returning it to California, where it is currently registered.
Power comes from a 3.0-liter OM617A turbocharged inline‑five diesel engine paired with a four‑speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels. Factory equipment includes an electrically operated sliding sunroof, automatic climate control, Becker Mexico Grand Prix radio, cruise control, heat‑insulating glass, and 15‑hole alloy wheels. The seller reports the car was repainted in 2018 and fewer than 10,000 miles have been added under current ownership.
This 1984 Mercedes‑Benz 300CD is now offered at no reserve with service records, owner’s manuals, a maintenance booklet, service records dating to the 1980s, various spare parts, a clean CARFAX vehicle history report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
From the seller: “The car was originally purchased in the Mission Viejo area in Southern California. The second owner lived in the Bay Area, and I am the third owner. I bought it in 2017 and later shipped it to New York, but it was never driven in snow, salt, or ice. During my move, I had it shipped back to California, where it is currently registered.
According to Eighties Cars and Classic Jalopy and referenced production figures, only 1,923 300CD Turbo models were imported to the United States for the 1984 model year. In total, approximately 8,000 were imported in the early 1980s.
This Mercedes-Benz has been well cared for. It was repainted in 2018, and I’ve added fewer than 10k miles since purchasing it in 2017.”
