Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The Chevrolet S-10 and GMC S-15 quarter-ton pickups were trucks introduced in 1982 at a time when the automotive market was saturated with gas-guzzling giants. The pair emerged as a shift towards smaller, more fuel-efficient vehicles. Parts from other GM chassis lines (primarily from the GM G-body intermediates) were incorporated. Track width was similar to the former GM H-body Vega and Monza subcompacts. The base engine was the Cavalier’s 2.0-liter OHV four-cylinder with a 2.8-liter V6 as an option. The Chevrolet and GMC models were identical apart from the grille, tailgate, and assorted insignia. They were the first domestically built compact pickups of the big three American automakers and met the demand for more fuel-efficient vehicles while setting a precedent for future designs, influencing the development of subsequent generations of compact trucks.
This 1984 GMC S-15 features the optional “Gypsy” package with upgraded interior upholstery. It’s been enhanced with a 350 cu-in V8 engine and Turbo 350 automatic transmission. This 1984 GMC S-15 Gypsy may be small in stature but delivers loads of fun.
