Description
The 1982 Volvo 245 GL was part of the iconic Volvo 200 Series, a line of mid-size cars produced from 1974 to 1993. Designed by Jan Wilsgaard, the 240 GL embodied Volvo’s commitment to safety, durability, and understated Scandinavian design. Built on the Volvo P platform, it featured a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and was available as a four-door sedan or five-door station wagon.
The 1982 GL trim added comfort, convenience, and visual upgrades over the more utilitarian DL. The model incorporated safety innovations derived from Volvo’s VESC experimental safety vehicle, including crumple zones and reinforced structures, which helped establish Volvo’s reputation for crashworthiness.
This 1982 245 GL’s factory diesel inline-six has been replaced by a Ford 5.0-liter V8 that sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Finished from the factory in Silver Metallic, the exterior received a glass-out refinish in 2012. The seating surfaces are upholstered in black leather, and 15” Virgo alloy wheels have been mounted. The seller acquired the wagon from its first owner in 2021, and service under current ownership included upgrades to the suspension.

The accompanying CARFAX Vehicle History Report shows no accidents or other damage and places this 240 series wagon in Georgia and Ohio with a gap in reporting between June 1983 and March 2013.
The wagon is now offered with a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.
