Description
The 1982 Datsun 280ZX marked one of the final years of Nissan’s Z-car under the Datsun nameplate before the brand transitioned fully to Nissan in the U.S. Introduced in 1978 as a successor to the 280Z, the 280ZX emphasized comfort and refinement over the raw sportiness of earlier Z models. By ’82, it featured updated styling with integrated bumpers, improved aerodynamics, and a more luxurious interior. The car retained its 2.8-liter fuel-injected inline-six engine and could be had with a manual or automatic transmission.
According to the seller, their friend purchased this 1982 Datsun 280ZX GL new, and they purchased it as the second registered owner in April 2024. The car was reportedly refinished in red paint by its original owner, and features black velour bucket seats with red stitching, plus plush gray carpet. Its factory 2.8-liter inline-six is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
The GL trim includes a tilting steering column with leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows and power-adjustable body-color sport mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, and optional T-top roof panels. Under current ownership it has received a new clutch and master cylinder, new fuel injection system, and new brakes, belts, and hoses. The factory odometer was swapped by the previous owner for one that registers higher speeds, and currently shows 79,000 miles. The seller estimates total mileage at approximately 98,000, with exact mileage is unknown.
This two-owner 280ZX is now offered at no reserve with a clean CARFAX history report, the removed factory speedometer/odometer, miscellaneous spare parts, and clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

Ownership History
The accompanying clean CARFAX history report begins in April 2019. The Florida-based seller purchased the car in April 2024.
The seller says: “I am the second owner in the state of Florida, and I bought it from a good friend. Extremely low milage and wear for the year. It is very fun to drive, and I've taken care of all the mechanical maintenance to make this a daily driver or [a candidate for] restoration. It’s a piece of 1980s nostalgia, and cruising with the T-tops off really turns heads.”
Included Items
Removed factory speedometer
