Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The 1980 MG MGB Limited Edition marked the end of an era for the beloved British roadster. Celebrating the conclusion of MGB production after 18 years, U.S.-market Limited Editions all wore black paint with silver rocker panel stripes and MGB branding, a front air dam/spoiler, GKN 14-inch five-spoke alloy wheels with red MG center badges, and a chrome rear luggage rack. Inside, the cars featured black bucket seats and carpet, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and a dash plaque that distinguished them from standard models.
Mechanically, these cars retained MG's familiar 1.8-liter B-Series engine and four-speed manual transmission, offering reliability over raw performance. Approximately 6,668 units were built for the U.S. between late 1979 and ’80.
Despite its unique original attributes, this 1980 MG MGB Limited Edition model was repainted and reupholstered during a refurbishment performed prior to the seller's acquisition in 2001. It received British Racing Green paint and repainted wheels, a tan convertible top, tan leather upholstery, tan carpet, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Sony AM/FM/CD stereo with four speakers. Additionally, the seller states that extensive recent mechanical servicing has been completed, as detailed below.
This 25-years-owned MGB is now offered at no reserve with a tonneau cover, car cover, workshop manual, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
