The General Motors C/K series of pickup trucks emerged as the renowned successor to the Task Force era, solidifying its position as the marque's most celebrated light truck. The third generation, known for its straight lines and distinctive hard, parallel edges, earned the moniker "the square body" and achieved significant sales success, remaining in production with styling changes until 1991.

From its debut in 1972 through 1976, the Chevrolet C10 was available in a diverse array of trims tailored for various purposes. The 1976 C10 could be had in 11 different combinations of wheelbase and trim. For those who selected the C10 Silverado and wanted a bit more bang for their buck, Chevrolet offered the Trailering Special package, which added power steering, a heavy-duty battery, and a GCW (Gross Combination Weight) rating up to 15,000 pounds.

This Canadian-built C10 Silverado Trailering Special is powered by Chevy’s big-block 454 cu-in V8 and features an optional Glasstite (Winnipeg) hard-shell cargo cover with automatic lift-up locking door, safety glass, and louvers for airflow ventilation. It also has stainless steel camper mirrors, a chromed rear step bumper, and towing ball — the perfect combination for weekend adventures into the great outdoors.

Ownership History

This 1976 Chevrolet C10 Silverado Trailering Special pickup truck was acquired by the consigner in May 2021 from the original owner, who lived and worked on a farm in Winnipeg, Canada. The C10 was never used as a work truck, however. As the consigner explains, “Oddly enough, it had never seen rain or snow before moving to California with me, as it was the original owner's pride and joy and was meticulously protected from the elements and only taken out for special occasions.” The current owner has driven the pickup approximately 11,000 miles in the last 3.5 years while enjoying drives to Big Sur (several times), Napa, Sonoma, San Gregorio, and Livermore.
