The 1976 Buick Electra 225 marked the final year of the fourth generation of Buick’s full-size luxury sedan, a model line that had been in production since 1959. Known for its commanding presence and smooth ride, the Electra 225—nicknamed “Deuce and a Quarter” for its 225-inch length—was Buick’s flagship in both comfort and equipment. For 1976, it received a distinctive grille with block “BUICK” lettering, quad headlamps, and the model’s hallmark four portholes on each fender.
This Electra 225 Sedan was delivered new to Martin Pontiac-Buick of New Hope, Pennsylvania, and now shows 8,056 miles. It is finished in Independence Red with a Liberty White vinyl roof over a Dover-pattern cloth interior accented by woodgrain trim and a custom steering wheel. Power comes from a 455-cubic-inch four-barrel V8 paired with a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.
Factory power equipment includes steering, brakes, and windows, along with a 60/40 power-adjustable notchback front seat and manual air conditioning with automatic temperature regulation. The car also features cruise control, tilt steering, a power trunk release, and Soft-Ray tinted glass. Interior amenities include an AM/FM stereo with tape player and dual speakers, courtesy lighting, and a front and rear lamp monitor system. Exterior elements such as the dual side mirrors with driver-side thermometer, front and rear bumper guards, and deluxe wire-style wheel covers further reflect the premium specification of this Electra 225.
