The 1975 Pontiac Grand Ville Brougham Convertible marked the final year for Pontiac’s full-size drop-top and the last Pontiac convertible until 1984. Introduced in 1971 as Pontiac’s top-trim luxury model, the Grand Ville offered upscale styling, plush interiors, and distinctive chrome accents. Built on GM’s B-body platform, the 1975 version featured a 123.4-inch wheelbase, wraparound grille and taillights, and rectangular quad headlamps. Standard power came from a 400-cubic-inch V8 rated at 185 horsepower, with an optional 455-cubic-inch V8 producing 200 horsepower, both paired with a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission. One of approximately 4,519 convertibles produced in 1975, the Grand Ville Brougham represented the end of an era for Pontiac’s full-size luxury convertibles.
According to the selling dealer, “this 1975 Pontiac Grand Ville Brougham Convertible is a one-owner vehicle with under 9,700 documented miles. It was originally purchased at Arnold Pontiac Inc. in Houston, Pennsylvania, by Tom Kapalko of the Pittsburgh area. The car retains its factory Honduras Maroon exterior paint and white vinyl bench seat interior, along with original carpet and GM floor mats.”
The Grand Ville is powered by its 400-cubic-inch, four-barrel V8 and equipped with a Turbo-Hydramatic transmission, power steering, power front disc brakes, and power windows. Additional options include a driver-side remote mirror, body side moldings, cruise control, tilt steering wheel, and Soft-Ray tinted glass. Interior amenities consist of an AM radio with rear speaker, automatic temperature-control air conditioning (a $524 option in 1975), and original GM floor mats. The car also features a white power convertible top, front bumper guards, and custom finned wheel covers. The selling dealer notes that it has been stored in a temperature-controlled environment and recently serviced for road readiness.
