Description

Produced by Triumph Motor Company, the TR6 was powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six engine and featured a robust, classic design with a long hood and short rear deck. U.S. models used twin Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, while European versions retained fuel injection and higher output.

In 1974, Triumph introduced mid-year updates — commonly referred to as the “1974.5” model — which included larger rubber bumper overriders, turn signals integrated into the bumper, and an air dam on the front underside. These changes marked the beginning of the TR6’s transition toward a more federally compliant design, while still retaining its sporty character. This TR6’s VIN number indicates that it was part of that 1974.5 version, but the car retains only the integrated turn signals and air dam.

This immaculate fuel-injected 1974 Triumph TR6 has had so many upgrades that they’re almost too numerous to mention — except that we included them below. The roadster has won numerous first-in-class show awards and has been featured in a European magazine. Although it has been 10 years since the TR6 was restored, few British roadsters can beat the showroom quality of this one.
