Description

The Volkswagen Beetle, officially known as the Volkswagen Type 1, is celebrated for its distinctive shape and remarkable longevity, with production spanning from 1938 to 2003. Among its various iterations, the VW 1302 introduced in August 1970 marked a significant redesign, featuring a new MacPherson strut suspension that allowed for an enlarged front trunk and a repositioned spare wheel. Originally intended to be named "1301," Volkswagen adopted "1302" due to a trademark issue with French company Simca. This model was available alongside the more powerful 1302S, which boasted a 1,584 cc engine compared to the 1,300 cc engine of the standard 1302. In English-speaking countries, the "Super Beetle" designation was used in marketing, although it did not appear on the engine cover. Given the model's popularity, many owners customize their cars to suit their needs and desires, as with this 1972 Super Beetle.
