Description
The 1972 Porsche 911T Targa combines the open‑air experience of the Targa body style with the mechanical purity of Porsche’s early air‑cooled era. As part of the final year before impact bumpers were introduced, the 1972 model is especially notable for its simple bumpers, right‑rear‑quarter oil filler arrangement, and classic long‑hood styling.
Finished in yellow over a black interior, this example was delivered to its first owner at Art Bunker Porsche-Audi in Overland Park, Kansas, and it is said to have been acquired by the seller's father in the 1990s. Power comes from an air-cooled 2.4-liter flat-six equipped with Bosch mechanical fuel injection and paired with a Type 915 five-speed manual transaxle. The car has spent time in Colorado and Kansas, and it is now in Indiana.
This 1972 Porsche 911T Targa is now offered with service manuals, factory literature, various spare parts, service records, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

From the seller: "The sale includes several Porsche reference books for technical data and maintenance, two front-end Porsche bras for paint protection—including a brand-new OEM Porsche piece from 1989 that is no longer produced—plus a variety of miscellaneous spare parts useful for future tune-ups. The Blaupunkt equalizer is included along with its matching four-channel amplifier (see uploaded photos). The car was acquired by my father in the mid‑1990s, has recently been fitted with new Yokohama Advan Fleva V701 ultra‑high‑performance tires, and will also come with a Motor Trend car cover for garage storage."
