Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The first-generation Mustang underwent its final redesign for 1971 and grew bigger in nearly every way. Of course, the Convertibles were the most svelte (and costly at $3,015) among the new imposing crop with all Mustangs now built in their spiritual home of Dearborn, Michigan. Stylistically, little changed for 1972 with the only obvious difference was the Mustang name on the rear was now smaller and on the right side, instead of across the center. Five engines were offered that year with the 302 cu-in one of the more popular choices. This considerable size difference, accentuated by an elongated design, made these final first-generation Mustangs appear even more imposing.
This 1972 Mustang Convertible is powered by a Ford 302 cu-in “Windsor” V8 engine, the popular choice amongst enthusiasts for its performance and opportunity it offered for customization. Finished in striking Bright Blue and complemented by a sleek Blue Pony Interior. It also features a matching white convertible folding top, a significant highlight as this year marked the last for convertible Mustangs until their revival a decade later in 1983. This 1972 Mustang represents a pivotal moment in the history of American cars, continuing to captivate enthusiasts with its blend of performance and style.
