Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
Many legendary muscle cars were gone by 1972. But even though it would be the last year of the popular second-generation model, the Chevelle soldiered on. In fact, Chevrolet offered it in four different versions: the luxurious Malibu, the budget four-door Chevelle Sedan, the economical Heavy Chevy Sport Coupe, and the high-performance SS.
The 1972 models received a wider grille, new front parking lights, and updated interior materials and colors. And when it came to the powertrain, there were even more options: from a fuel-sipping six cylinder to five different V8s ranging from a 307ci all the way up to the powerful 454ci. Combined with three- or four-speed manuals and a two-speed Powerglide or three-speed Turbo Hydra-Matic, along with a good selection of rear gear ratios, Chevelle still had more than enough power to back up its stunning good looks.
This ’72 Chevelle Malibu started life as an SS model equipped with the 270-hp 454. Now, it’s powered by a fuel-injected 496ci V8, backed up by a four-speed manual transmission that sends a tsunami of torque to a beefy 12-bolt rear end. It's finished in red with black stripes, with a black vinyl top that matches the black upholstery. Additional equipment includes a coilover suspension, Cragar wheels, and an aftermarket exhaust with electronic cut outs.
This 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu SS Sport Coupe is now offered by the selling dealer with a key fob controller for the electronic exhaust cut outs and a clean Florida title.
