Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

The second generation of Chevrolet’s powerful pony car debuted halfway through the 1970 model year wearing a sophisticated, European-influenced design. The long hood, egg-crate grille, frenched-in headlights, and chrome bumperettes of the early 1970-73 cars were both unique and muscular, clearly differentiating the second gen from previous Camaros.

Chevrolet offered a range of V8 engines, capable manual and automatic transmissions, and performance packages like the uplevel Z28 option from the factory. But these days, enthusiasts can keep the timeless Camaro looks while easily exceeding the original performance by building a restomod.

This 1972 Camaro restomod underwent a comprehensive, 12-year build. Its clean factory look has been enhanced with chrome aftermarket wheels, a cowl hood, and a larger rear spoiler. Between the fenders sits a cammed LS3 V8 sending power through a six-speed manual transmission. The suspension and brakes have been highly modified, and the updated interior features custom leather buckets, digital gauges, power options, and air conditioning.

Ownership History

The consignor states, “This bright orange hot rod started from humble beginnings as a dark blue roller. We bought it from Vanguard in Michigan in June 2006 for the whopping sum of $5,000, and it came home on a trailer to begin the journey to greatness. It underwent a rotisserie build until its completion in 2018. We tore it apart and did the LS swap, and the full interior. This 12-year journey of automotive restoration left no bolt untouched, and no expense was spared.”
