Description

When Dodge unveiled the third-generation Charger in 1971, it marked a bold evolution in muscle car design. Built on the trusted B-body platform, the new Charger featured a sleek “fuselage” body style that emphasized aerodynamics and aggressive styling. It was a standout in both showrooms and on the track, helping Dodge secure multiple NASCAR Grand National championships in the early ’70s. Among the most iconic names in Mopar performance was Mr. Norm Kraus, the legendary performance dealer behind Grand Spaulding Dodge in Chicago. Known for pushing the limits of factory performance and offering custom-built muscle cars, Mr. Norm’s dealership became a destination for enthusiasts seeking the rarest and most powerful Mopars available.

This particular 1971 Dodge Charger R/T is one of those rare machines—a numbers-matching Track Pack car originally ordered by Mr. Norm himself. It was sold new through Grand Spaulding Dodge and remained with its original owner until 2008. Since then, it has undergone a meticulous rotisserie refurbishment. Finished in high-impact Hemi Orange over a black vinyl interior, this Charger retains its original 440ci Magnum V8, A833 four-speed manual transmission, and Dana 60 rear end with 3.54:1 Sure-Grip gears. It’s a true Track Pack setup, complete with power steering, power front disc brakes, and a factory pistol-grip shifter.

Supporting its authenticity is an extensive collection of original documentation, including the original window sticker, dealer order form, shipping notice, broadcast sheet, and more. Mr. Norm’s signature appears on the passenger visor, and the car also comes with a signed photo and metal Mr. Norm plaque. With its provenance, rarity, and show-quality presentation, this Charger R/T is not just a car—it’s a historical piece of American muscle.

Ownership History

Originally ordered and sold by Mr. Norm’s Grand Spaulding Dodge of Chicago, Illinois, this Charger remained with its first owner until 2008. It then underwent a full refurbishment before being acquired by the current owner.

According to the consignor: “This car is as clean underneath as it is on top. Every detail was addressed during restoration, and it’s nearly flawless. With all the original paperwork, Mr. Norm’s signature, and matching numbers, it’s one of the rarest and most complete examples of a 1971 Charger R/T you’ll find.”

The Ohio title is marked as a "Replacement" and in the name of the seller's trust.
