Description

General Motors gave all models using its A-body platform a complete redesign for the 1968 model year. Among them was the four- and two-door Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme, with the latter being shortened to a 112-inch wheelbase.

The Supreme now represented the top of the Oldsmobile range, available in Holiday Sedan, Hardtop Coupe, and two-door Convertible body styles, all powered by the “Rocket” 350 cu-in V8 backed by a three-speed manual or optional Turbo-Hydramatic transmissions.

In 1969, Oldsmobile introduced a distinctive front-end design that would define the Cutlass through 1972. The 1970 model saw further refinements with updated body panels, rooflines, grilles, and taillights.

This ‘70 Cutlass Supreme rolled out of the Linden, New Jersey, assembly plant finished in Matador Red with a power-operated soft top, and the seller notes it received a repaint as part of a refurbishment under prior ownership.

The car was optioned with air conditioning, power windows, power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt-away steering, and a Turbo Hydramatic 350 three-speed automatic transmission, while modifications include a dual exhaust system, a retro-style radio, a Grant steering wheel, and an Edelbrock carburetor.

This 1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible is now offered with a Rhode Island title in the seller’s name.

Additional Information

  • From the seller: “Sound car mechanically and physically. A joy to drive and turns heads everywhere you go!”

  • From the seller: “It is an older restoration that still looks super. Absolutely no rust! Don’t drive it in the rain or snow. The white/powered convertible top is in excellent condition. All power windows work as they should. Lights and turn signals work as they should.

  • From the seller: “The upholstery, except for a stitch break on the driver's side, is in good shape. New carpeting installed in 2023 is still looking new. The new classic-looking radio works as it should and offers a USB port for playing your own music. A power antenna emerges as the radio is turned on, and the speakers sound good.”

  • The Rhode Island title carries a “mileage exempt” brand
