Description
OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE
The rear-engined 1970 Fiat 500L traces its roots to Dante Giacosa’s 1957 Nuova 500, which became a symbol of Italy's postwar optimism and put millions on four wheels. By the late 1960s, Fiat introduced the 500L — with the L signifying “Lusso,” or luxury — to freshen the classic design without losing its charm.
By 1970, the little car featured front-hinged doors, which replaced the earlier rear-hinged “suicide” doors and offered improved safety and accessibility, along with chrome accents, improved upholstery, and a more refined dashboard. It retained its economical 499cc air‑cooled, inline two‑cylinder engine which provided adequate horsepower for a car that weighed less than 1,100 pounds. The mill mates to a four‑speed manual gearbox.
This 500L is refinished in white paint with a black fabric rollback top over red vinyl upholstery with black piping. Features include 12” steel wheels with Italian CEAT tires and full hubcaps, a two-spoke steering wheel with red Fiat horn button, 130-km/h speedometer, and foldable rear bench for added cargo space.
This 1970 Fiat 500L is now offered without reserve by the selling dealer with a clean Florida title.
