Description

OFFERED WITHOUT RESERVE

Introduced in 1958, the Chevrolet Impala quickly became the automaker's flagship passenger car, with a blend of style, performance, and affordability that ultimately attracted buyers for decades to come.

By 1970, the Impala had undergone several design changes and updates. The '70 version, which marked the final year of the fourth generation, featured a slight restyle, particularly noticeable in the front and rear. The front end saw the return of separate grilles and headlights, a departure from the recessed headlights of the ’69 model that gave the 1970 Impala a more distinct and aggressive look. Under the hood, a range of engine options were available, from a 250 cubic-inch inline six-cylinder to a 390-horsepower 454 cu-in V8.

A 65-day GM workers' strike led to a substantial reduction in 1970 production, with total output dropping by more than 270,000 units compared to the previous year. Despite those production challenges, Chevrolet produced approximately 505,471 Impalas in 1970, including this four-door Hardtop Sedan, which is powered by a 250-hp, 350 cu-in small-block V8.
