Description
The Chevrolet Chevelle, introduced in 1964, was Chevrolet’s answer to the growing demand for mid-sized cars in America. Positioned between the compact Chevy II and the full-sized Impala, the Chevelle quickly gained popularity for its versatility, offering a wide range of body styles including coupes, sedans, convertibles, and station wagons.
The Chevelle became a cornerstone of the muscle car era, especially with the introduction of the Super Sport (SS) models. The 1970 model year marked the peak of Chevelle performance, thanks to the legendary SS 454 cubic-inch LS6 V8. But why stop there?
This 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Convertible Resto Mod was completely restored with numerous upgrades in 2022. Among its many features: an LSA 6.2-liter supercharged V8, six-speed manual transmission, limited-slip differential, fresh Fathom Blue paint and rally stripes, power-operated white soft top, an SS-style grille and taillight panel, cowl induction hood, aftermarket headlights and taillights, modified suspension and frame, BC Forged 20-inch wheels, TMI Products seats, a custom console, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate control, and a Kenwood Bluetooth head unit.
“It is one of the brutes," Hot Rod magazine wrote of the 1970 Chevelle, "and all it needs is a way of staying in contact with terra firma.” What was true then is even more so now.
