Description
In 1969, Oldsmobile’s mid-size lineup saw only subtle updates from the previous year. The most noticeable change was the introduction of a new signature split grille with vertical bars, paired with vertical taillights—styling cues that would become Oldsmobile trademarks. In compliance with new federal safety regulations, headrests became standard equipment, and the ignition switch was relocated from the dashboard to the steering column, enabling the steering to lock when the car was off.
The engine lineup remained unchanged from 1968, but a new Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 automatic transmission was added as an option. It was available with all versions of the 350 cubic-inch V8 engine.
The F-85 Series was streamlined to a single model: the two-door Sports Coupe. For buyers seeking a bit more flair, the 1969 Cutlass S Holiday Coupe offered an upgraded experience. It included all the features of the F-85 Sports Coupe, plus hood louvers, an insulated fiberglass hood blanket, nylon-blend carpeting, a special exterior molding package, a deluxe steering wheel, and a combination of vinyl and cloth upholstery.
This Cutlass S Holiday Coupe is finished in green with tan hood accents and a color-coordinated vinyl roof cover. The Rocket 350 cu-in V8 is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission.
